Dear Lexi,
It’s the night before your big brother Mark’s 11th birthday and I can’t help but feel blessed. Not just because of how lucky we have been on your journey, but by how lucky we are in life period. Mark is an amazing big brother. He loves you so much. He would do anything for you and he always gets sad when he can’t be at your appointments. That was the case today.
We went up to Denver Children’s oncology today. Got caught having a dance party in the room waiting on the doctor. Had your ultrasound and all your markers done. So far everything is looking good. We go back on Thursday to Endocrinology, on Monday to Loveland to get your cast removed, and then on the 10th of September back up to meet your new pediatric orthopedic oncologist. Today you got your beads of courage and are very excited to make them into your necklace.
After the appointments we went to the Lego store to get the Lego set you have had your eye on. Then, back home to spend the rest of the evening enjoying family time and Celebrating Mark.
My favorite part of my day with you was prayer time at dinner. We sat around the dinner table and you wanted to pray first. That’s normal. You always want to pray first. Normally you mumble and we can only pick out a few words that you actually choose to enunciate. Tonight was incredible. “Dear God, Thank you for my nice doctors appointment. Thank you for my new Minnie Mouse Legos. Amen.” How at two years old you were able to reflect on your day. Pick out what you were thankful and put it into prayer is beyond me. It makes my heart so full to see you love God. The fact that at two years old you are thankful for your doctors even after getting pokies is incredible. I am a better person for knowing you. You bring so much light into our lives girl.
I love you to the moon and back. Infinity times infinity.
XOXO,

Thank you for such a beautiful post. I so love your sharing about Lexi and about your family.
