Dear Lexi,
I bet you’re thinking this post is to tell you the exciting news that you finally got your cast off, but you didn’t. It feels like it will be on for awhile longer. When we went last month to get the x-ray there was not a significant amount of changes.
What I am really here to tell you is that you’re a bad-@$$. Really, I know I cannot believe how tough you are. Yesterday I was holding you and got a wiff of your hair. It was awful. I know you have been in the cast for awhile so your bathing situation isn’t ideal, but I wash your hair with the shower head and scrub you down with wipes so there is no excuse for the smell. I pulled your hair back in a ponytail and the smell got worse. When I looked at your ear I noticed some irritation so I set up an appointment to get your ear checked out today.
You have an ear infection so bad that it ruptured your ear drum. Not once have you complained about your ear being sore. Not once have you pulled on it. The doctor couldn’t believe you were letting him look at it. He was in full on disbelief by the fact you weren’t wincing in pain or anything.
Thankfully there was no permanent damage done. But really, you are one of the toughest people I have ever met. I’m sorry I didn’t catch the infection sooner.
I love you ya little trooper. The strongest girl I know. Love you to the moon and back. Infinity times infinity.
Mom
xoxo
